Lessons from the bees

My neighbor has the biggest lavender bush and all day long the bees are busy gathering.

I couldn’t resist taking my camera over to photograph them. They are not easy to catch and are so efficient flying from flower to flower. You have to be quick with your camera.

Lessons from the bees

We have a cold front that is about to blast us. Do you think they know? Do you think they sense it and that is why they are flying and gathering so quickly?

Lessons from the bees

They absolutely fascinate me with their wings too small to support their body, yet they fly anyway. I guess that’s what happens when you don’t know your wings are too small…

Lessons from the bees

you do it anyway.

Lessons from the bees

I want to be like that.

Lessons from the bees

And now you ask in your heart,
“How shall we distinguish that which is good in pleasure from that which is not good?”
Go to your fields and your gardens, and you shall learn that it is the pleasure of the bee to gather honey of the flower,
But it is also the pleasure of the flower to yield its honey to the bee.
For to the bee a flower is a fountain of life,
And to the flower a bee is a messenger of love,
And to both, bee and flower, the giving and the receiving of pleasure is a need and an ecstasy.
~Kahlil Gibran
