If you’re ever in the Albuquerque area and are looking for a little getaway, check out Los Poblanos Historic Inn & Organic Farm. It’s a romantic little slice of heaven surrounded by 25 acres of lavender fields with a view of the Sandia Mountains. What more could you ask for?
We flew in from California the night before, so I got up early with my beloved (who left to take another IT certification exam) and decided to go for a photo walk while my punks slept in.
I love seeing all the adobe buildings with ristas hanging and turquoise blue doors and window shutters against some white. It is typical all over New Mexico, and it just makes my heart flutter. I immediately want to sketch it in my sketchbook.
Above is a fountain in the middle of the courtyard with trumpet vine growing up the side beams all around the courtyard. The plants and flowers are beautiful in here. Below you see our chef preparing a gourmet breakfast. It was divine!
A gate to the Greely Gardens which were designed by Rose Greely.
The gardens were stunning with so many beautiful flowers, fountains and tall cottonwood trees.
After my photo walk, I woke up my punks and we walked down to the breakfast room for a freshly made organic gourmet breakfast. We had eggs benedict and apple aebleskivers (which I’d never heard of but they were delicious). After breakfast, we walked down to the old stables and checked out some bicycles to explore the place.
